EMERGENCY & SERVICE VEHICLES.

UNIQUE VEHICLES BUILT FOR PURPOSE & SAVING LIVES.

For decades, we've been trusted with the care, maintenance and supply of parts for some of the most important working Land Rovers ever built. These vehicles weren’t just display pieces, they were here because they were used, relied upon, repaired, upgraded, and kept operational through our workshops. Below are brief descriptions of the vehicles pictured.

Land Rover Series III 109 Fire Engine: These were built for the places full-size fire engines simply couldn’t reach. It was a true first responder in the toughest environments for the likes of rural villages, airfields, industrial sites and remote terrains, with these compact machines carrying firefighters and essential equipment straight to the heart of the action. The 109 often acted as vital backup for larger brigades, and in smaller communities, it was the primary line of defence.

Land Rover Series IIB Forward Control Fire Engine:  Purpose-built for speed, access, and efficiency, the Series IIB Forward Control fire tender was designed for rapid response in tight and demanding environments. Its distinctive cab-over layout maximised load space while keeping the wheelbase short, giving it incredible manoeuvrability where traditional trucks simply couldn’t operate. These vehicles carried hoses, pumps, and water or foam systems to deliver fast, effective firefighting support exactly where it was needed most.

Land Rover 101 Forward Control Ex Military Ambulance:  A true frontline lifesaver. Developed for the British military, it was designed to transport casualties or injured soldiers rapidly and safely across harsh terrain. They are fully air-transportable and built for durability with them carrying stretchers, oxygen, and full medical equipment into places no conventional ambulance could reach. They were frequently used in support of military units such as Rapier missile crews and were known for saving lives under the most demanding conditions.

EX- MILITARY & MOD VEHICLES.

BUILT FOR THE FRONT-LINES.

We have worked alongside some magnificent vehicles designed for military operations, airfield support and emergency response, with these machines engineered to operate in the harshest conditions imaginable. Many of them were acquired directly from MOD and RAF auctions, where they began second lives in civilian ownership after years of faithful service. This collection represents the breadth of military Land Rover engineering with missile carriers, ambulances, lightweight reconnaissance vehicles, runway escorts and logistical support platforms.

MISSILE SUPPORT & HEAVY-DUTY MILITARY LOGISTICS:

Defender 127 Rapier Missile Carrier (Ex-MOD):The Defender 127 was purpose-built to carry Rapier missile systems and their associated equipment. With its extended chassis and heavy-duty suspension, it was designed to move high-value defence systems across rough terrain.

Military Forward Control Variants: These cab-over-engine Land Rovers were built for maximum payload in compact dimensions. Used for communications, engineering support and mobile equipment platforms, Forward Controls became indispensable wherever space, access and load capacity mattered most.

MEDICAL & EMERGENCY RESPONSE VEHICLES.

Military Land Rovers were often converted into frontline medical units, designed to go places traditional ambulances simply could not.

Ex-Military Land Rover Series III Ambulance: Built to evacuate casualties from challenging terrain, these ambulances carried stretchers, oxygen and field medical equipment across environments.

LIGHTWEIGHT RECONNAISSANCE & RAPID TRANSPORT

Designed for speed, air portability and adaptability, the Lightweight Land Rovers became icons of British military mobility.

Series III Lightweight (Hard Top & Station Wagon Conversions): Originally engineered to be light enough for air transport, these vehicles were used for troop movement, communications and light logistical duties.

GENERAL SERVICE DEFENDERS

Ex-MOD Defender 110: Used for everything from troop transport to engineering support and convoy escort, the Defender 110 became one of the most versatile platforms ever fielded by the British forces.

Ex-Military Defender 90: Compact, agile and immensely capable, the Defender 90 was often used for rapid deployment roles, patrol duties and support operations.

RAF & AIRFIELD OPERATIONS

Not all military Land Rovers served on battlefields, many worked around aircraft and airbases.

1997 Ex-RAF Runway Defender 90: This aircraft escort and runway support vehicle spent its working life guiding aircraft, escorting equipment and maintaining safe movement across active runways.
