Moto-Lita isn’t just another steering-wheel brand. Founded in the late 1950s by Simon Green, Moto-Lita grew out of real racing-car roots, where Green began his career building steering wheels for race cars at firms like Cooper and HWM before striking out independently.
Since then, Moto-Lita steering wheels have graced the cabins of legendary British sports cars and classic marques from Aston Martin and AC Cars to Jaguars, Morgans and more. What’s special is that, more than 60 years on, every Moto-Lita wheel is still handmade in their Hampshire workshop, using traditional techniques, real wood or leather rims, and aircraft-grade aluminium spokes.

Our long-standing ex manager, Richard Gross, was gifted a wooden slotted Moto-Lita steering wheel for his newly rebuilt Defender 90 and he was very pleased. A steering wheel cannot be fitted without the correct boss kit. The boss is the precision-engineered hub that connects your Moto-Lita steering wheel securely to the steering column. Choosing the correct boss is critical for safety, fitment, and driving position. This is what the boss enables:
- Safe and secure fitment of your Moto-Lita steering wheel.
- Maintains correct steering alignment and control.
- Positions the wheel at the correct distance from the driver.
- Allows compatibility with aftermarket steering wheels.
- Required for both fixed and quick-release wheel setups.
Without the correct boss, a steering wheel cannot be fitted correctly or safely.
